According to security officials, Karim Massimov was detained by Kazakhstani authorities on Saturday. He is suspected of being a traitor.
According to the National Security Committee, Massimov, who was dismissed this week amid protests in Central Asian countries, was taken into custody along with several others. They were not named or provided further information.
