Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

NSE close: The index rose 1.09% and the NSE gained 1.07%.

UPL Ltd., which gained 4.14% (32.65 points) to trade at 821.60 by the close of trading on the day, were the top performers. Titan Company Ltd. (NS:), which gained 3.30%, or 84.80 point to trade at 2657.50, was also up. Hero MotoCorp Late trade saw Ltd (NS) rise 3.16%, or 79.00 point to 2578.10

These were the worst performers of the session. Wipro Ltd (NS): The stock closed at 693.50, down 2.53% or 18.00 point. Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. NS: fell 1.13%, or 50.90 point to close at 4465.80 Nestle India Ltd. (NS:), was at a 0.98% loss, 194.85 points lower than 19708.00.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which rose 3.29% to 2657.35, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:) which was up 2.74% to settle at 8123.85 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.54% to close at 1953.15.

Wipro Ltd. (BO) was the worst performer, falling 2.47% at 693.65 in late trading. Nestle India Ltd. (BO) lost 1.17% at 19690.10. Asian Paints Ltd. was also down at 3555.00.

On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 1333 to 5006 while 34 ended unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange saw 2544 rise and 976 fall, and 107 ending unchanged.

Titan Company Ltd. (NS:), shares rose to record highs. They gained 3.30%, or 84.80 to 2657.50. Titan Company Ltd’s shares rose by 3.29%, or 84.55 to 26,57.35.

The was an indicator of implied volatility for Nifty 50 options. It rose 0.43% from 17.6775 to 17.6775.

The February delivery of Gold Futures was up 0.1%, or 2.05, to $1799.45 per troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 0.10 percent to $78.80/barrel, and March Brent oil, which fell 0.13 percent to $81.62/barrel.

USD/INR decreased by 0.2% to 74.059 and EUR/INR fell by 0.56%, to 83.8910.

The US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.2% at 95.920.
