Tesla signs deal for first U.S. supply of nickel with Talon Metals -Breaking

(Reuters) – Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ) announced Monday that it signed its first U.S. supply agreement for nickel. The company chose Talon Metals Corp.’s Tamarack project in Minnesota to manufacture the battery metal used for electric vehicles.

Tesla will acquire 75,000 tonnes worth of nickel in six-year time. Talon will be the automaker’s source of cobalt, iron ore and other metals.
