WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Treasury does not plan to extend the April 18 deadline for filing 2021 income taxes. This is after giving taxpayers additional time during the previous two years to complete returns due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Officials stated that the Internal Revenue Service would begin accepting income tax returns from individuals on January 24. The filing deadline for individual income tax returns was delayed to May 17 last year. This time, the official said that this is now three weeks sooner than usual.
