(Reuters) – Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:) Robert Ford, Chief Executive Officer stated Tuesday that demand for COVID-19 tests has risen globally and sales should remain strong in the short term.

Ford stated that “We have, obviously, you know, had a fairly, quite strong last few months of testing” and that he expects this to continue in the immediate future at the J.P. Morgan Health Care conference.

He said that his company is able to meet demand.

Ford indicated that although testing demand is expected to decline eventually, Ford believes there will always be an adequate supply.
