NBA Players Want Bitcoin Part of Their Salary

The cryptocurrency payment is being used to partially pay US players, Klay Thompson (Golden States Warriors) and Andre Iguodala (US basketball). On Twitter, the NBA’s stars revealed their salary plans (NYSE:) and said that part of it would be paid in cryptocurrency.

CashApp is a Bitcoin payment platform that the NBA stars promoted and offered a $1M prize to their fans. To participate in the draw, users simple need to write #PaidInBitcoin in the comments and follow CashApp’s Twitter account.


  • Aaron Rodgers, an NFL player stated in November 2021 that he wants to get his salary partially in Bitcoin. Odell Beckham Jr. recently revealed that he prefers to receive all of his salary in Bitcoin. Some government officials, such as Miami’s Mayor and New York’s next mayor have also made clear their intentions to be paid in crypto.
