UK considering cut to green levy to soften energy price surge

LONDON, (Reuters) – Britain’s finance ministry may consider imposing a green levy to energy bills in order to assist consumers already struggling with high inflation. The Times reported Tuesday.

According to the newspaper, Treasury was looking at the Energy Company Obligation. This 1 billion-pound (1.36 billion USD) levy on energy bills pays for insulation, new boilers, and other household needs.
