Biden to meet with Senate Democrats on voting rights Thursday -aide -Breaking

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden will be attending a Senate Democratic luncheon on Thursday to talk about the party’s efforts to enact voter rights legislation and potential changes to Senate rules.

Biden made Tuesday a passionate appeal to Congress for U.S. voter rights legislation that has stalled in Congress. He said Democratic legislators should revise Senate rules to defeat Republican resistance.

Biden gave a speech that was meant to invigorate the fight for federal voter laws and persuade skeptical Democrats to his resolve. Biden called Republicans cowardly and pledged to amend the U.S. Senate filibuster to allow legislation to be passed.
