LONDON (Reuters – British Prime Minster Boris Johnson will need to defend his primacy on Wednesday, after it was discovered that a “bring yourself booze” gathering took place at Johnson’s residence during the coronavirus lockdown.

Johnson has been urged to resign by opposition lawmakers and his Conservative Party members. He should also resign if it is discovered that he violated strict laws his government enacted to stop the spread of the virus.

Johnson was elected to office in 2019, promising to ensure Britain’s departure from the European Union. He has refused to confirm that he attended Downing Street, May 20, 2020.

A senior Conservative lawmaker said that “His survival depends on the current situation.” He spoke under anonymity, due to the sensitive nature and circumstances of the case.

He has to have clean breasts. It is usually helpful to apologize and defuse the situation. It’s not worth it to keep on keeping,” stated the lawmaker.

After Martin Reynolds, his Principal Private Secretary, sent an email inviting him to a party in Downing Street’s garden using the pronoun “we”, the prime minister and Carrie got together with around 40 other staff. ITV (LON:) News reported.

Johnson’s spokesperson repeatedly denied commenting on details of the report.

Johnson, when he answers questions at parliament Wednesday at 1200 GMT will only be interested in one question: Was he there for the drinks party?

Johnson was warned by newspapers, even those sympathetic to him, that his position might be made untenable if he doesn’t resolve the matter.

Daily Mail, on its frontpage, asked the question commentators had been asking about the latest scandal. “Is there a party over for the PM?”
