On Thursday, Delta Air Lines (NYSE) announced that the fourth quarter beat forecasts by analysts and that revenue exceeded all expectations.

Delta Air Lines posted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.22 on revenue $9.47B. Investing.com polled 247 analysts to predict EPS of $0.114 based on $8.85B in revenue.

Delta Air Lines shares have risen 3.92% since the start of the year. However, they are still 22.32% below their 52-week high of $52.28 on March 15, 2021. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 0.84% from the start of the year.

Delta Air Lines reported after FedEx beat them on December 16, 2021. FedEx reports EPS of 4.83 on $23.5B revenue, while Delta Air Lines forecasts EPS to be $4.28 on $22.41B revenue.

Cintas exceeded expectations in the second quarter of 2021, with EPS of 2.76 on revenue $1.92B compared to $2.65 forecasted on revenue $1.91B.
