Novak Djokovic, tennis star and comrade in the game of tennis has seen his visa cancelled once more ahead of the Australian Open. This is as furore over his Covid-19 status escalates.

Djokovic won Monday’s court case to remain in the country despite his original visa being revoked. Following his arrival in Melbourne for the Australian Open last week, Djokovic was taken into custody at an immigration center. He had not been vaccinated against Covid and officials claimed that this violated Serbia’s strict entry requirements.

Djokovic received his visa as valid, and was therefore released from prison. The Australian government is now acting again.

Alex Hawke from Australia, the Immigration Minister said Friday that “Today” was the day he exercised section 133C(3) of The Migration Act and cancelled Mr Novak Djokovic’s visa due to health and good orders grounds.

Djokovic was a vocal anti-vaccine skeptic who sought to break the 21st Grand Slam record. His passport was confiscated by customs officers on Jan. 5, because he failed to have adequate medical documentation for an exemption.
