FRANKFURT. (Reuters). ECB President Christine Lagarde declared Friday that while the European Central Bank is still confident in falling inflation this year, it remains open to adjusting policy as necessary to reach this goal.

After price growth of 5% in the last month, which was more than double that bank’s target of 2%, she stated that “We are aware that rising prices can be a concern for many people and that we take that concern very serious.”

In a speech, she stated that “our commitment to price stability is unwavering.” We will do everything necessary to achieve our inflation target at 2% in the medium-term.
