U.S. households can order 4 free COVID-19 tests starting Jan 19

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – U.S. homeowners can start ordering four COVID-19 at-home tests on the COVIDTests.gov website starting Jan. 19. Shipping is expected 7 to 12 days following order, according the White House on Friday.

These free COVID-19 test kits are intended to ease the shortage in COVID-19 testers across the country, given the increased demand for the Omicron version.

The White House stated that the U.S. has already contracted for over 420 million test runs.

Joe Biden, President of the United States has promised to provide 1 billion tests free for Americans. More may follow in the future. On a conference phone call, a senior government official said that “We aren’t saying we’re stopping here”.
