WASHINGTON (Reuters), Several states are investigating the possible violation of Facebook’s (NASDAQ:) virtual-reality Oculus business. According to three people familiar with this matter, they have already begun an investigation.

According to two sources, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission had also been involved in antitrust investigations. Meta didn’t immediately reply to our request for comment.

One source claimed that New York, North Carolina, and Tennessee were all involved in this inquiry. An estimated 50 states requested an appeals court Friday to reinstate the antitrust lawsuit they filed against Facebook in December 2020.

One source said that the probe into Facebook’s Oculus business is part of a larger investigation.

Requests for comments were not received by the New York, North Carolina, and Tennessee attorney generals.

Bloomberg News reported this inquiry for the first time.
