REUTERS/Abdel Hadi RamahiDUBAI, (Reuters) – The United Arab Emirates civil aviation regulator opened an investigation into an Emirates passenger jet’s aborted take off at Dubai airport on Saturday.
The second inquiry into the airline has been launched in less that a month. It follows a December passenger jet’s flight which did not rise immediately upon take-off. The flight was safely landed.
According to an Emirates spokesperson, safety is their top priority. No aircraft were damaged or injuries from the failed takeoff at Dubai on January 9.
According to a spokesperson, the jet was carrying passengers from Hyderabad to India.
A spokesperson stated that the General Civil Aviation Authority’s Air Accident Investigation Sector has begun investigating the matter. It is also being reviewed by the airline.
FlightRadar24 reports that the Boeing (NYSE.) 777 took-off at the same time as another 777. It stated that the takeoff was aborted when the wide-body plane reached 100 knots.
Emirates described the incident as “technical” and is currently investigating. It occurred on a December 20th passenger flight between Dubai and Washington DC.
The Air Current reports that the aircraft flew low in the sky after its takeoff from Dubai.
The plane landed safely in America.
A request to comment by the GCAA was not received immediately.
