Brazil’s Bolsonaro to visit Suriname and Guayana for talks on oil cooperation -Breaking

BRASILIA, Reuters – The Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is scheduled to visit Suriname & Guayana Thursday and Friday in order to discuss economic cooperation after recent oil and gas discoveries by Brazil’s neighboring countries.

Bolsonaro, Chandrikapersad, Santokhi and Guayana’s presidents will have a luncheon in Paramaribo, Surinamese capital, on Thursday for “projects that are common interest,” according a ministry statement.

The three countries were said to be resuming their strategic dialogue in a period of “prospects of greater economic and socio development in Suriname, Guyana, driven largely by the recent discovery of oil and natural gas.”

Bolsonaro will be accompanied by representatives of Brazil’s state oil company Petrobras for discussions on possible investment and cooperation in oil, gas and oil.
