U.S. stocks lower at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 1.51% -Breaking

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close of NYSE the index was down 1.83% and the index had lost 1.51%.

These were the best performers of the session Visa Inc Class A (NYSE -), rose 0.48% (1.04 points) to trade at 215.71 by the close. Meanwhile, Caterpillar Inc (NYSE 🙂 increased 0.41% or 0.93 point to finish at 229.87 Chevron In late trade, Corp (NYSE: ) rose 0.33% to 129.38 or 0.42 point.

These were the worst performers of the session. Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:) fell 6.97%, or 26.54 point to trade at 354.40 by the close. JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:) declined 4.19% or 6.62 points to end at 151.27 and Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ:) was down 2.66% or 1.63 points to 59.73.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Activision Blizzard Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 25.88% to 82.31, Citrix Systems Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 5.43% to settle at 101.00 and CF Industries Holdings Inc (NYSE:) which gained 2.72% to close at 68.25.

These were the worst performers Moderna Inc (NASDAQ.) was 8.85% lower at 186.61 late trade. Applied Materials Inc was also down at 152.36, losing 8.77%. KLA-Tencor Corporation was at 4.20% and at 412.98 close.

Brickell Biotech Inc., which rose by 58.58% to 0.3300 on the NASDAQ Composite was among the best performers. DatChat Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 38.75%, to settle at 3.33 NeuroMetrix Inc (NASDAQ) gained 29.47% and closed at 6.370

China SXT Pharmaceuticals Inc, (NASDAQ:), was the worst performer. It fell 58.77% to 0.22216 in late trading. Guardforce AI Co Ltd (NASDAQ :), which suffered a loss of 29.01% and settled at 1.15 East Stone Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:), which fell 28.19% to 11.16 by the end.

New York Stock Exchange: Falling stocks outnumbered advanced ones by 2766-538, 99 ending unchanged, while Nasdaq Stock Exchange saw 3171 decline and 696 rise, with 174 ending unchanged.

Chevron Corp shares rose by 0.33% to three-year highs (NYSE:), rising 0.42 to 129.38. China SXT Pharmaceuticals Inc. shares (NASDAQ) dropped to an all-time low of 58.77%. This is a drop of 0.3159 to0.2216.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 18.76% to 22.79.

For February delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.17% to $1813.45 per troy an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil for March delivery rose 3.08% or 2.58, to $85.88 per barrel. The March Brent oil contract increased 0.14%, or 0.12, to trade at $88.62 per barrel.

EUR/USD increased 0.02% at 1.1328 while USD/JPY dropped 0.00% to 114.61.

US Dollar Index Futures were up by 0.58% to 95.710.
