WASHINGTON (Reuters] – A new website called COVIDTests.gov, created by the U.S. government for American families to order free COVID-19 testing during the Omicron variant spike, has been launched. The White House announced that it was up and running before its official launch Wednesday.

Four tests are available for free to U.S. homeowners when they order from this website. Shipment is usually within 7-12 days.

Joe Biden pledged 1 Billion free test for Americans. Additional orders may come in the near future.

The criticisms levelled at him administration for failing to put more emphasis on testing early have been harsh. Americans were forced to wait in line for their tests during the holiday season because of a lack.

Jen Psaki, White House spokesperson said that while there are no guarantees of bugs being fixed, the top tech teams from the Administration and Postal Service will work hard to ensure this is a successful launch. It will be officially launched tomorrow morning. “It’s currently in beta testing.”

Psaki pointed out that the U.S. Digital Service was established after the disastrous rollout of Healthcare.gov. It has supported the Postal Service in its use of the site.

The Digital Analytics program reports that more than 700,000 users accessed COVIDtests.gov Tuesday at the same time.
