Shiba Inu Developers Settle Dispute with Coinmarketcap, to Fix ‘Wormhole’ Addresses’

The developers have finally reached an agreement with Coinmarketcap – the world’s most-referenced crypto price-tracking website. The duo has now agreed to work together to fix the recent issues of “wormhole” addresses.

The Shiba – CoinMarketCap Fallout

CoinMarketCap was alerted earlier in the week by members of Shiba Army about three addresses for Shibu Inu contracts on their official platform.

Twitter handle Shiba Inu had posted about CoinMarketCap addresses on its official Twitter (NYSE:), stating that they are unsafe. Many people believed that these were fake smart contracts for Binance Smart Chain.

CoinMarketCap took the opportunity to tweet to confirm that Wormhole addresses to SHIB allow cross-chain transactions. ShibaInu however accused CoinMarketCap’s team of being indifferent.

With this, the Shiba Army claimed that the move created FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) about SHIB and negatively affected the coins’ price. Additionally, community members accused data tracker Shiba Inu of being against them.

Shiba inu said that both the teams are now working together to prevent malicious source wormhole contracts.

What You Need to Care About

Shiba Inu, a project that prides itself on decentralization, has echoed many concerns about the “centralized” manner CoinMarketCap operates.
