U.S. FAA OKs 62% of commercial air fleet for some landings in 5G zones -Breaking

REUTERS/Brian SnyderWASHINGTON (Reuters] – On Wednesday, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration approved new authorizations for Boeing (NYSE ) and Airbus airplanes. This allows an estimated 62% U.S. commercial aircrafts to make low-visibility landings in airports using 5G C.band.
Following approval of two previous altimeters by the FAA, three additional ones were approved Wednesday morning.
The FAA stated that aircraft models equipped with any of five approved altimeters are the Boeing 717 and 737 models as well as the Boeing 747 and 757 and 767 and 767 models.
The FAA approved previously 45% of its fleet. On Wednesday, the FAA advised that flights to some airports could still be affected even with all these approvals.
