ZURICH, Reuters – From May 22-26 the World Economic Forum 2022 Annual Meeting in Davos will take place. The Geneva-based organization announced Friday.

In December, the WEF postponed the event to the political and business elite one month prior. This was in response to the difficulty of hosting such an in-person conference in the midst of Omicron coronavirus.

Klaus Schwab, Chairman of WEF, stated in a statement that “after all the virtual meetings occurring in the past two years, leaders in politics, business, and civil society must finally convene again in person,”.

“We must create the trust atmosphere that will allow us to work together and solve the many challenges we face.”

The agenda includes topics such as the recovery from pandemics, climate change mitigation, building a better work future, acceleration of stakeholder capitalism and harnessing technologies of the fourth Industrial Revolution, according to it.

It said that the WEF would work closely with Swiss officials to improve the state of the public health system. The WEF also stated that the meeting will take place provided there are conditions in place for the safety and health of both the participants and the hosts.
