Blast hits western Afghan city of Herat, killing at least six -Breaking

KABUL (Reuters – At least six people were killed in a blast that exploded through a vehicle at Herat, a western Afghan town.
Mawlawi Ansari Mawlawi Ansari of Herat said that nine were hurt. It was unclear what caused the explosion.
According to a Herat health official, the explosion that struck a van carrying passengers was just after 1800, and three people were seriously injured.
Since August’s Taliban takeover, there have been a number of attacks and blasts across Afghanistan, many claimed to be by Islamic State.
These attacks are a reminder of how critical security is for the government as it struggles to contain the nation’s economic crises.
