(Reuters) – On Friday, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit south of Unalaska, Alaska. This is a significant fishing port that has 4,700 residents.
According to the center, the quake occurred at 8:17 PM (0517 GMT Saturday).
The United States Geological Survey recorded the earthquake at 6.2 magnitude. It was located 74km (46 miles) to south of Unalaska, at depths of 3km (2miles).
According to the U.S. Tsunami Warning System, there wasn’t a tsunami alert after the quake.
