No Way Home’ Swings to Sixth-Highest Grossing Movie in History With $1.69 Billion Globally -Breaking

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com – Another notch added to “Spider-Man: No Way Home’s” lengthy list of box-office achievements.

The weekend will be Sony The comic book movie adventure of (NYSE:) became the sixth highest grossing film in history, earning $1.69 Billion at the worldwide box office. This is not adjusted for inflation. To secure this spot, it passed “Jurassic World”, which grossed $1.67 billion, and “The Lion King”, which made $1.66 billion.

After six weekends of release, Spider-Man: No Way Home has returned to No. 1, North America. This added $14.1 Million between Friday and Sunday. Tom Holland stars as Marvel’s web-slinger neighborhood. It opened on December 1st and generated $721M domestically, and $970.1M internationally.

Spidey’s latest adventure is doing well beyond the United States. “No Way Home” ranks fourth in terms of movie gross. The U.K., Holland’s birthplace, has seen $116m to date. Mexico is the highest-earning country with $73.4million, South Korea at $60.6million and France at $59.9million. It is remarkable that “No Way Home” managed to surpass all expectations and break records without being shown in China which, at the moment, is the largest market for moviegoing.
