IMF’s Gopinath sees U.S. inflation peaking in Q1 -Reuters interview -Breaking

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The International Monetary Fund anticipates that U.S. Core Inflation will peak in the quarter. It is expected to ease to 3.4% by 2022, and drop to the Federal Reserve’s target of 2% for 2023. This was according to the IMF’s No. 2 official.

Gita Gopinath, the first Deputy Managing director of the Euro Area, stated that inflation would rise for some quarters in the Euro region but will eventually reach the European Central Bank target of 2% at the end of this year.
