Leonardo says it is not subject of Kuwait Eurofighter investigation -Breaking

MILAN, (Reuters) – Leonardo Defence Group, an Italian defence company, has said that it is not under judicial investigation over the Kuwait Eurofighter programme. It also added Tuesday that 28 Jets are being supplied in compliance with the agreement.
Leonardo shares plunged as much as 8 percent on Tuesday. The drop was more than the loss from the previous session. Traders attribute the decline to an inquiry into the Kuwait deal.
The state anti-corruption body Monday said that Kuwait had referred two top officers of the army to the public prosecution for suspected corruption in connection to the sale to Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets.
Leonardo stated that its agreement with Kuwait was “always based upon the principles of maximum transparency and full fairness”, and that all transactions are subject to strict checks.
Kuwait inked a contract worth 8 billion euros ($9.04 trillion) with Leonardo for 28 aircraft. Two of these were delivered last year.
Leonardo stated Tuesday that others will “follow as per plan”.
At 1217 GMT shares in Leonardo fell 4.3%, which made it the largest loser of a Milan blue-chip index that was little changed.
