Microsoft (MSFT) earnings Q2 2022

MicrosoftThe company will announce its fiscal second-quarter earnings on Tuesday after the closing bell.

What analysts expect:

  • Earnings:According to Refinitiv, $2.31 per share is adjusted.
  • Revenue:Analysts expect to see $50.88 Billion, Refinitiv reports.

Analysts anticipate a decline to 18% for the fiscal second-quarter after two quarters of growth in revenue of more than 20%. The company would then be back on track with the performance of the past two and a quarter years.

Most notable slowdown is seen in the More Personal Computing section, which encompasses gaming and Windows Operating System. StreetAccount analysts polled expect 9.5% growth over a year prior, which is down from 14% growth during the quarter before.

Amy Hood, Microsoft’s finance chief, warned in October that she was concerned about the tough competition from the Xbox Series X consoles. At the time, she stated that console sales would continue to be affected by uncertainty in supply chains.

Microsoft shares dropped 13% over the past year due to a wide sell-off of technology stocks. Investors are worried about rising interest rates.

As investors seek to determine how future profits and revenues will be affected by supply chain limitations and inflation, guidance is crucial. Refinitiv polled analysts and found that Microsoft expects to generate $48.23 trillion in fiscal third-quarter revenue, which would indicate 15.6% growth.
