No Way Home’ Swings to Sixth-Highest Grossing Movie in History With $1.69 Billion Globally -Breaking

LOS ANGELES, CA (Variety.com – “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has added another notch to its long list of box-office successes.
This weekend: Sony The comic book movie adventure of (NYSE:) became the sixth highest grossing film in history, earning $1.69 Billion at the worldwide box office. This is not adjusted for inflation. This movie surpassed “Jurassic World” (1.67 billion) as well as “The Lion King”, ($1.66 billion), to take that number.
After six weekends of release, Spider-Man: No Way Home has returned to No. 1, North America. This added $14.1 Million between Friday and Sunday. Tom Holland stars as Marvel’s web-slinger neighborhood. The movie, which is a superhero tale, was released in December. It has earned $721 millions domestically, and $970.1 internationally.
Spidey’s latest adventure, “No Way Home”, is the fourth most popular movie. However, the film has also done exceptionally well in the U.K. (Holland’s birthplace) and earned $116 millions to date. Mexico, South Korea and France are the top earners with $60.6million each. France is fifth with $59.9m. It is notable that “No Way Home”, despite not being in China (the world’s largest moviegoing country), has been able to break records and surpass expectations.
