S&P 500 on course to confirm correction, falls 10% from Jan peak -Breaking

(Reuters] – On Tuesday the tumbled and showed signs of a correction as it lost more than 10% to its Jan. 3 record close high, which was set on the opening trading session.

At 09:55 am EST, the benchmark index dropped 2.4% (1455 GMT).

When an index closes 10 percent or more below its record closing level, it is considered a correction.
