REUTERSPARIS (Reuters), – French consumers’ confidence fell in January according to an official survey, as inflation worries weighed heavily on France, the second largest economy of the Euro zone.
The INSEE national statistical body reported that consumer confidence fell to 99 from 100 in December. Reuters polled 14 analysts and predicted a reading of 98 points in January’s consumer confidence reading.
Inflationary pressures in Europe have increased due to higher energy prices.
