Russia puts jailed Kremlin critic Navalny’s brother on wanted list -Breaking

MOSCOW, Reuters – Russia put Alexei Navalny’s brother on a wanted listing. According to interior ministry records, he is facing a summons from a court that could turn a suspended sentence against the Kremlin critic into a prison term.

Oleg Navalny’s whereabouts remain unknown. Last year, Oleg was under house arrest from January to April. A one-year suspension sentence was issued for Oleg’s violation of safety regulations in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.

These charges were brought against him after he participated in a Moscow protest against Alexei’s arrest.

According to his lawyer, Oleg Navalny’s Federal Penitentiary Service is going to petition a Moscow court to send him to prison for not complying with safety regulations.

Following three-and-a half years of imprisonment for embezzlement charges, the 38 year-old was freed in 2018

Alexei Navalny, who was sentenced to a suspended sentence because of parole violations in that case, was sentencing. He claims that the charges against him were politically motivated.
