WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Transportation Security Administration said Tuesday that it had screened 1.06 million passengers at U.S. airport checkpoints. This is the lowest daily number since April 2021.

Airlines experienced a drop in bookings between December and January due to the Omicron variant’s rise in COVID-19 case.

American Airlines (NASDAQ 🙂 announced last week that, while tickets sales may not be back at pre-Omicron levels as of yesterday, they have been recovering quickly after falling off “considerably”, in December.

TSA has screened 4.68 million individuals in the same day, 2021, and 1.64 millions in the January 2020.
