Union calls 1%/year pay increase offer for U.S. refinery workers ‘ridiculous’ -Breaking

HOUSTON (Reuters] – According to a message that was sent out to members Wednesday, and seen by Reuters, the United Steelworkers union called a 1% increase in pay offered by Marathon Petroleum (NYSE;) “ridiculous.”

“We weren’t working from home during this pandemic. The Steelworkers stated in a message that they had received from the Steelworkers about the offer to pay 30,000 workers at U.S. chemical plants and refineries a 1% increase each year under the agreement the sides have been negotiating before the Feb. 1 deadline.
