Apple shares hold up to tech rout on strong results, metaverse tease -Breaking

(Reuters: Apple Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 Shares rose by nearly 3% after Apple Inc reported record-breaking results. The company teased its metaverse plans and defended itself against a rout and decline in tech and growth stocks starting this year.
The stock of iPhone maker Apple would be able to snap its eight-day losing streak if the premarket gains continue. This is in an attempt to recover its poorest monthly performance since September 2020.
World’s largest corporation by market capital had sales in excess of $124 billion, and profit in excess of $34 trillion. Its ability to manage a worldwide supply shortage during crucial holidays quarters is a testament to its strength.
Third Bridge analyst Scott Kessler stated, “It is worth noting Apple is well-known for its supply chain prowess. Many wonder about the actions Apple took and will take in order to improve itself for this calendar years.”
Apple also teased its metaverse ambitions as Chief Executive Tim Cook talked of the company investing in the expansion https://www.reuters.com/technology/apple-teases-metaverse-ar-plans-stock-jumps-2022-01-28 of its library of 14,000 augmented reality apps, prompting strong investor response.
Refinitiv data shows that at least eleven brokerages increased their target price for the stock. This brings the median price target up to $188.5
Apple stock is under severe pressure from the rate-driven selloff in tech sectors, which also has hit giants such as Alphabet (NASDAQ) Inc. Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:).
Apple rose above the rest to be one of the few tech-heavy constituents that gained after the quarter’s results.
Andrea Cicione from TS Lombard, heads strategy, said that there is still a lot to be uncertain about the tech sector. It remains expensive, and the Fed has an overhang of potential hawkish surprises.
