PeckShield, a data analytics and blockchain security company has disclosed that hackers were looking to steal a lot of xETH collateral. xETH is a secure wallet that allows for private transactions. It also offers more privacy than ETH payments. They have created a plan to steal all of the BNB on QBridge.
CertiK – a cybersecurity firm that specializes in blockchain technology – pointed out, in addition, that QBridge had a deposit option. With this, hackers illegally created 77.162 Qubit qXETH assets. Rekt data revealed that hackers used these fraudulent activities multiple times to convert all hacked assets into BNB. This makes it the 7th-largest DeFi exploit.
Fraudulent activities such as protocol exploits, rug pulls, and hacks continue to be a problem despite the growing crypto industry. Additonally, Crypto.com, a well-known crypto exchange reported a $34million loss in cryptocurrency transactions from 483 customers. Also, nearly $15 million in Ethereum and $19million worth of Ethereum were exploited. The incident also affected several other cryptocurrency.
