Internet Computer Protocol (IC) to Integrate BTC and ETH

Internet Computer (IC), a protocol and public blockchain developed by DFINITY and conceived as part of the 2022 plan, announced it would be integrating with and.

On January 27, the DFINITY Foundation tweeted a post on the new venture indicating it as ‘’a new wave of DeFi application.’’

DFINITY will release Chromium Satoshi during the first quarter 2022. Bitcoin integration will also be made possible.

DFINITY intends to launch Ethereum during Q3 2022, with Vanadium Vitalik Release. They haven’t released further details.

Michael Less (DFINITY Vice-President of Communications) explained the process:

When you send a Bitcoin transaction to an internet computer, the Bitcoin ledger actually changes. It is different from what you can see now, which you can do by using a bridge. It’s like a wrapped Bitcoin or wrapped Ether.

It is a venture that uses smart contracts and Chain Key cryptography to create a Bitcoin blockchain. This will help block the many malicious actions in the cryptocurrency industry.

Berto Parga Pena, a member of DFINITY explained that Chain Key cryptography was a breakthrough in cryptography that establishes cryptographic protocols that maintain nodes which make up the Internet Computer. Smart contracts that integrate Bitcoin directly with the IC will be able to send and receive Bitcoin regardless of their private keys.

DFINITY also expanded its plans for Vanadium Vitalik Release and Carbon Service Nervous Systems, Iridium Multi-Chain Integration as well as Futurium Post Quantum (NASDAQ) Cryptography.

DFINITY released Canister, an intelligent version of smart contracts that can be accessed at high speed via the internet, in December 2021. Canister includes traditional smart contracts as well as functionalities for storing software and user information. It can measure hundreds of user requests simultaneously.

The Internet Computer was launched in May 2021. It is believed to have been the first Blockchain to run at high speed web speeds and has the increased ability to process any number of smart contracts.

Network Nervous System was launched by the company last year. It is an algorithmic autonomous governance system that controls the IC network using a decentralized, permissionless and open method.
