AbbVie (NYSE 🙂 announced Wednesday that the fourth quarter beat analyst forecasts, and that revenue fell below expectations.

AbbVie reported earnings per share at $3.31 on revenue $14.89B. Investing.com polled analysts to predict EPS of 3.29 on revenue $14.96B.

AbbVie shares have risen 1% since the start of the year. However, they are still down 0.95% from their 52-week high of $138.30 on January 27, but that is still a 1% increase. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 4.61% from the start of the year.

Following the publication, AbbVie stock shares rose 0.72% in premarket trade.

AbbVie reports on other earnings from the healthcare sector in this month

AbbVie’s report follows an earnings beat by J&J on January 25, who reported EPS of $2.13 on revenue of $24.8B, compared to forecasts EPS of $2.12 on revenue of $25.28B.

UnitedHealth exceeded expectations by beating forecasts on January 19, posting fourth quarter EPS at $4.48 per dollar on revenues of $73.74B. This compares to the $4.3 per cent revenue forecast.
