Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The gain was 1.17% by the Sydney closing bell.

These were the best performers of the session Champion Iron Ltd (ASX:) rose 6.15 percent or 0.390 to trade at 6.730 by the close. Auckland International Airport Ltd. (ASX) gained 5.37%, or 0.36 points, to close at 7.06. Worley Ltd. (ASX) was also up 4.96%, or 0.56 point to 11.84 late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. Credit Corp Group Ltd (ASX :), fell 6.34% to 32.65, or 2.21 point at the close. Amcor PLC, ASX:), declined 3.54% (or 0.600 points) to finish at 16.360. Codan Ltd (ASX) fell 3.30%, or 0.31 point to 9.08.

The Sydney Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining stocks by 902 to 529, and ended the day unchanged at 382

For April delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.06% to $1802.65 per troy an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose 0.36 or 0.4% in March to reach $88.56/barrel, and April Brent oil, which rose 0.34 or 0.30, to trade at $89.46/barrel.

AUD/USD rose 0.14%, to 0.7136. AUD/JPY declined 0.10%, to 81.66.

US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.2% to 96.162.
