Hefty Art will introduce digital collectables, a continuation of a collaboration with Bollywood film and music giant T-series.

Hefty Art is bringing the best of Maqbool Fida Husain, India’s prominent icon of modern art, into the NFT industry. With a mission to reconceptualize his body of work for profitability and drive more awareness, Hefty Art is set to launch the first NFT of Husain’s art piece –Fury, in partnership with the Estate of MF Husain, the official body governing Husain’s artworks.

Owais Husain (the son of MF) announced that Hefty, an initiative by Hindustan Talkies was the official NFT partner of the first NFT tokenized artwork.

Speaking about the partnership, Owais Husain – Representative, Estate of MF Husain, said,

My father had an unwavering passion for innovation in all aspects of his life. As an artist, I am pleased and looking forward to introducing my father’s iconic artworks in a new avatar via NFTs on Hefty Art. Husain, with the wide-ranging reach of his painting, changed India’s modern art landscape. He is now a legend. This move, which I think will be similar to the one that Husain made in India, positions it to play an important role in the global transformation of art markets.

Also commenting on the new association, Neeraj Roy, Managing Director – Hungama, shared,

Many continue to be inspired by MF Husain, who is an iconic figure in artistic expressions. His vision was of Modern Indian Art, and he led it in the latter part of the 20th century. Recognized as ‘The Barefoot Picasso’, Husain’s creativity gained wide traction across several mediums including painting, sculpture, drawing, film and writing to build an incredible internationally recognized repertoire.

The Hefty Art and Husain Estate tie-up are suited to leverage Web 3.0 to push the purely physical art world to an increasingly immersive digital space, allowing users to own exclusive and immutable art pieces from MF Husain’s collection. A plethora of Bollywood stars, artists and celebrities could delve into NFT space with their offerings and associations following Hefty’s crucial metaverse move.
