Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

NSE closed with the index rising 1.16% and the rise of the NSE stock exchange.

They were the top performers at the session IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS), rose 5.75% to 53.05 points, closing at 975.35. Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (NS:), which gained 5.04%, or 802.15 point to trade at 975.35. HCL Technologies Ltd (NS.:) was up 3.3% or 38.15 Points to 1170.95 late trade.

They were also the worst performers of the session. Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS): The close was at 1482.95, down 1.51% or 22.80 point. UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS) fell 1.01%, or 76.25 point to close at 7440.00 Nestle India Ltd. (NS:), was at a 0.92% loss of 171.05 points, to 18500.65.

Tech Mahindra Ltd. (BO) was the worst performer, falling 1.61% at 1482.75 in trade late. Nestle India Ltd. (BO) lost 1.03% at 18471.60. UltraTech Cement Ltd. (BO) was also down 0.97% at 7439.50.

By 1358 to 449, declining stocks were outnumbered on the India National Stock Exchange. 27 ended unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange 2215 rose while 1041 fell, while 93 ended unchanged.

For April delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.09% to $1803.20 per troy an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil for March delivery rose 0.3% or 0.30, to $88.50 per barrel. The April Brent oil contract rose 0.2% or 0.18, to trade at $89.34/barrel.

USD/INR declined 0.00%, to 74.749. EUR/INR rose by 0.40%, to 84.5445.

At 95.963, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.43%.
