Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The Australian lost 0.4% by the time Sydney closed.

The April delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.30%, or 5.50, to $1804.80 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 0.45% or 0.45 in March to reach $87.81 per barrel. The April Brent oil contract dropped 0.36 or 0.40% to trade at $89.11.

AUD/USD fell 0.17% at 0.7124 while AUD/JPY dropped 0.02% at 81.64.

At 96.105, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.18%.
