Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index fell 1.29% at the NSE close.

They were the top performers at the session Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS): traded at 2781.50 after the close, up 2.93% or 79.5 points. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS.:) rose 2.44% to 3621.10, and Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(NS.:) rose 1.01% to 42.80 point at 4262.45.

They were also the session’s worst performers Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NS): fell 3.26%, or 85.15 point to trade at 2527.80 by the close. NTPC Ltd (NS) fell 3.19%, or 4.50 points, to reach 136.65. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd was down 2.8% (or 5.10 points) to 166.20.

ITC Ltd. (BO) rose 1.14% at 234.30. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. was up 0.86% at 8590.15. Titan Company Ltd. (BO) gained 0.46% at close at 2475.45.

Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.(BO:), which fell 3.23% to $2527.75 late trade, NTPC Ltd. (“BO:”) which dropped 3.05% to settle in at 136.60, and Infosys Ltd. ($BO:), which declined 2.76% towards 1738.70 close.

The India National Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing by 971-841, and 22 ended unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange however, 1679 rose while 1572 fell, and 82 ended unchanged.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was up by 2.73%, to 19.1600.

For April delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.34% to $1804.15 an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 1.31 percent or 1.31 in March to reach $86.95 per barrel. The April Brent oil contract dropped 1.36%, or 1.22, to trade at $88.25 per barrel.

USD/INR increased 0.11% to 74.9900. EUR/INR declined 0.07%, to 84.34790.

At 96.207, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.28%.
