REUTERS/Benoit Tessier/File PhotoFRANKFURT, (Reuters) – Airbus could make its own engines to fuel its hydrogen-fueled planes. This was what Guillaume Faury, the Chief Executive Officer of Airbus told a German newspaper on Saturday.
This planemaker stated that it will develop the first commercial hydrogen-fuelled aircraft with zero emission by 2035.
Faury said to Welt am Sonntag that he would be happy to equip the aircraft with an in-house made electric motor.
Faury said, in reference to a potential “change of strategy”, “That’s something that we could practically do ourselves.”
