This was slightly more than anticipated due to high commodity prices, and loosening anti-virus restrictions, according to data released Monday by the Statistics Bureau.
Reuters polled analysts and found that they expected Southeast Asia’s biggest economy to grow at 4.90% per quarter, up from 3.51% the three previous months.
Comparable to a contraction of 2.07% the previous year, the economy experienced a 3.69% increase in 2021.
