Nissan to stop most development of new gasoline engines

© Reuters. (Reuters] – Nissan Motor Co Ltd will stop producing new internal combustion engine in any of its major markets other than the United States, and instead focus on creating electric cars. The business newspaper reported Monday.
Nikkei reported that the automaker would continue to develop its gasoline engines for its U.S. markets, mostly for pickup trucks.
Reuters reached Nissan for comment but they did not respond immediately.
Nikkei reports that the Japanese company plans to open new factories for battery recycling in Europe and America by the end fiscal 2025.
A series of initiatives has been undertaken by automakers around the world, including General Motors Co (NYSE 🙂 and Ford Motors (NYSE 🙂 Co to switch to electric cars.
