Spain wants EU member countries to set own fiscal targets -Breaking

MADRID, Reuters – Nadia Calvino (Spanish Economy Minister) suggested Monday that every member of the European Union should have its own fiscal goals in the future rather than having the common ones set by the bloc.
Calvino stated that “for the future, member countries must play a lead role in setting themselves their own fiscal goals,” she said at an event in Madrid alongside Paschal Dohoe (Eurogroup head) from Ireland.
The EU is currently considering a modification to its fiscal rules, which would require member states to have a lower budget deficit and reduce debt.
