DUBAI, (Reuters) – Uber’s Middle East business Careem announced Monday that the company was seeking to fill over 200 jobs in the Middle East region. This is according to a LinkedIn statement by Careem.
Careem claimed it needed to hire people for jobs across its ride-hailing company, from data analysts to engineers, platform designers to operations managers, to all the way to programmers.
Careem, which was acquired by Uber Technologies Inc (NYSE:) Inc 2019 for $3.1billion, has been working towards a new rollout of its Super App. This app offers additional services to its ride-hailing core business, including food delivery and digital payments.
Uber’s acquisition of Careem in 2019 gave America market dominance over the Middle East and Pakistan before Uber’s first public offering, which raised $8.1billion from investors. The company was valued at $82.4billion.
