Klaytn announces five key partnerships for global expansion in 2022, backed by Kakao Blockchain

Klaytn is a public-facing blockchain platform created by Kakao Corp (KRX: 035720). Five key partnerships have been signed to help the company expand globally. Its mission for 2022 will be to become the Blockchain of Choice Gaming and Metaverse Projects, as well as integrating with the Defini ecosystem.

Klaytn was released in 2019 and is Korea’s dominant blockchain. It has secured the Central Bank Digital Currency project (CBDC), with the Bank of Korea. Klaytn has also been integrated with KakaoTalk’s crypto wallet Klip and is available to 45 million KakaoTalk customers.

Klaytn’s international launch was August 20,21. Since then, Klaytn has signed 5 strategic partner agreements with these companies:

  • Japanese tech company GMO Internet Group will explore Blockchain use Cases on Klaytn. This includes a JPY pegged stablecoin
  • Indonesia’s Innovation Factory, the digitalisation arm of Salim Group, to explore blockchain-based applications, including asset management solutions, supply chain traceability as well as NFT use in gaming and entertainment
  • Asian NFT marketplace East NFT, to harness the global LGBTQ crypto economy with NFTs based on Y Series content and to widen the horizon through collaborations with the world’s largest partners in the art, music and entertainment space
  • Animal Concerts, a US entertainment company, will mint NFTs in order to support A-list stars. The auction began with an NFT auction that was open for household names in Q1 2022.
  • The F10 global fintech accelerator will create an incubator program in Singapore for blockchain startups
