German car market to grow 7% in 2022, still below pre-pandemic

BERLIN (Reuters). Germany’s auto market will increase 7% by 2022, to 2.8million new cars, the national auto association VDA forecasted on Wednesday. This is a significant improvement over last year’s historical lows, but below pre-pandemic levels.

It said that global market growth is expected to be 4% this year. This will rise to 5% for Europe which has had a slower recovery than China and the United States.
