Norway to launch 1.5 GW offshore wind tender -Breaking

The country plans to produce 1.5 gigawatts of electricity, which will be used by the Norwegian mainland.
Premier Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere stated that the first turbines might be built in the second decade.
Stoere said that a second phase of development in the south North Sea is planned. It will be later, and have the same power as the first.
The government has reiterated its plans for industry to build floating wind turbines in Utsira North, northern North Sea.
The government also stated that it will seek out additional offshore land for development of wind turbines.
